This is a community oriented open practice ball. This is meant to give participants and ballroom scene members the opportunity to practice categories in front of a panel. This is also an opportunity for those who haven’t walked a ball before, but we strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with both the categories, culture and history of ballroom beforehand. Ballroom was born from exclusion and brilliance. The culture was made by and for black and latinx queer and trans people as a place to not only breathe, but also just be seen and survive. We would like everyone especially spectators to remember the intention of the ballroom scene when stepping into the space.
